New Years Eve was delightful! My friend Liz met her current boyfriend, Jim, through a young adults group that she goes to at her church every Friday. We all like Jim a lot. Jim and his sister hosted a New Years Eve party at their apartment. It was a lot of their friends, but they were all fun and funny, so it wasn't awkward for Ahalya and me at all. We had a great time chatting, playing Picture Telephone (SO fun) and catch phrase, and just generally being goofy. Of course we watched the ball drop and had some champagne, too. Liz is one of those people where "A friend of Liz's is a friend of mine" because they're always such quality people. It's nice to not have to be nervous about "crashing a party where [we] know no one."
Mom and Dad had a few friends over at our house to play ping pong and such, too. The next Aunty Sue, Mom, Dad and I went out to lunch and to a Bach performance at the Troy Music Hall. It was very pretty. Last night Liz, Ahalya and I got together again at Ahalya's house, since she departed this morning.
I also have gone to Color Me Mine to paint my annual tile with Ahalya (Thursday deals. Two paint for the price of one). That now makes 4. 2008, 9, 10, and 11! It's cool to see some of the highlights of specific years.
